This election season has shown us plenty of lessons. One of top one’s I’ve seen is this: the world needs less talkers and more doers. And I don’t just mean in candidates.
Lots of the complaining on social media, on TV and even in person with friends centers around an issue the complainer views as important. Trump needs to do more of this. Clinton needs to do less of that. Both candidates need to care more about X. Neither of them should care about Y.
The obvious question is, what about these issues is the complainer doing his self? Because if you’re so passionate about it, then it would make sense to be part of the solution right? What action is he taking to be a part of the solution? Odds are, not much. And this is why so little changes.
We need less talkers and more doers. We don’t need another person talking about the problem of poverty, we need more people doing something about it. There are times when mere awareness is necessary, but if change is desired, then action must follow suit.
If you want to make a difference in society, to make an impact in your community, to change the world, then you need to do less talking and more doing. This is true for any creative or entrepreneurial endeavor as well. Talking about a business won’t do much, you need to start it. Talking about a book, you need to write it.
There’s plenty of people that talk. Plenty of people who sit on the sidelines yelling what’s wrong. There’s a deficit of doers. This is your opportunity.
