If anything can get you ahead in the world today it would be this: less talking and more doing.
There are a lot (i.e. everyone!) of people talking. On TV. On the radio. On your Facebook Newsfeed. Twitter. SnapChat. Talking. Talking. Talking.
Don’t do this.
This is right.
This is wrong.
I am right!
You are wrong!
This is how you should do it.
This is what you should care about.
More of this.
Less of that.
Here’s the thing about talkers, they don’t get much done besides talking. The reason is simple, it’s difficult to get anything else done with you’re talking. My goal this year is less talking and more doing. More doing what I’m called to do. More creating. More writing. More learning. More reading. More time with family. More time playing with my kids. More time exercising. More time doing what will actually make an impact.
Talking about problems doesn’t do much to fix them.
Talking about writing a book doesn’t write it.
Talking about getting in shape doesn’t lose pounds.
Talking about your dreams doesn’t fulfill them.
If you have to choose either to talk about it or do something about it, then you should default to doing. This is how you really change the world.
What are you doing this week?
