If you could do anything…

what would you do?

If you could do anything for a career, what would you do?

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live?

If you could accomplish one huge thing, what would it be?

What is stopping you? I bet it’s fear. Fear you’ll be rejected. Fear of money. Fear of what “they’ll” say. Fear you’ll fail. Fear you’re not good enough. There are so many things to be fearful of that you’ll always have an excuse. Time to quit with the excuses and get after it.

Pick a goal and go after it! Nothing is holding you back but a little bit of perspective.

career – writer (check in progress)
    live – Silicon Valley (check)
accomplish – living each day with joy and purpose (check in progress)

I think the thing that holds us back is fear that what we do won’t matter. I spent decades locked up fearing stuff I’d do would turn out insignificant.

Then, I learned through trying to do big things, that God only wanted me to enjoy all the small things He put in my life. And suddenly, my life because big.

I long to echo the Psalmist:
“My heart is not proud, O LORD, my eyes are not haughty; I do not concern myself with great matters or things too wonderful for me.” Ps. 131:1

Thanks for your visit this week at Faith Barista, Greg. I LOVED your comment – and tweeted out:

“I wonder what would change if I could quote scripture like I can quote movies.”

    Sweet.

That’s awesome to have that many checks!

I’ll have to stop by the coffee shop more often!

    Thanks for the thoughts!
